• APR began with a group of volunteers who were helping trap, neuter and release community cats, which evolved into a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation in 1996. Donations are tax-deductible.

• APR is funded solely by generous donors and grants.

• To care for the cats and dogs, APR USES DAILY:

120 lbs of pine litter

60 cans of wet cat food & 40 lbs of dry cat food

7 cans of wet dog food & 5 lbs of dry dog food

• Every pet adopted, is examined by APR’s veterinarian and vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered, tested for common illnesses and given Flea/tick preventatives. APR’s onsite veterinary clinic is equipped to treat common ailments and perform general surgeries for the shelter animals.

• The average cost of medical care is $220 per animal.

• Adoption Fees:

$125 - puppies / $100 - dogs over a year old

$60 - kittens / $50 - cats over a year old

• In the past Five years, APR’s intake has averaged 275 pets per year. APR adopts out 255 pets per year to loving homes plus 20 medical adoptions per year for pets with special needs.
